Our Breathwork Journey: Training with Neelam Taylor

Hey Recovery Warriors,

We wanted to share something really special with you—something that’s been transforming our own recovery journey in ways we never expected.

We’ve started training in Intuitive, Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitation with Neelam Taylor, and honestly, it’s been one of the most powerful experiences of our lives.

For years, we’ve walked the recovery path. We’ve done the meetings, the therapy, the work. And all of that has been important. But breathwork? This has opened up something different. Something deeper.

When we first started exploring breathwork, we had no idea how much we were carrying in our bodies. Trauma, stress, old emotions we thought we’d dealt with—it was all stored there, in our muscles, in our breathing patterns, in the tension we carried without even realizing it.

Breathwork gave us a way to access and release that stuff. Not through talking. Not through thinking our way through it. But through conscious breathing.

And we’re not going to lie—it can be intense. There have been sessions where emotions we’d buried for years came rushing to the surface. Times when we cried, shook, or felt things we’d been avoiding. But every single time, on the other side of that release, there was space. Peace. Clarity.

That’s why we decided to train with Neelam Taylor. We want to learn how to hold this space for others. How to guide people through their own breathwork journeys in a way that’s safe, trauma-informed, and deeply respectful of what the body needs to heal.

This training isn’t just about learning techniques. It’s about understanding how trauma lives in the body, how breath can unlock what’s stuck, and how to create a safe container for people to feel, release, and heal.

We’re still learning. Still growing. Still on our own journey. But we’re so excited to eventually share this work with our Recovery Warriors community.

If you’ve never tried breathwork before, we encourage you to explore it. There are guided sessions online, local facilitators, and so many resources out there. Just make sure you’re working with someone who’s trauma-informed, especially if you’re in recovery.

And if you’re curious about what we’re learning or want to know more about breathwork, reach out. Send us a message. We love talking about this stuff.

Breathwork has taught us that recovery isn’t just about staying sober. It’s about releasing what’s been holding us back. It’s about coming home to our bodies. It’s about breathing through the hard stuff so we can finally be free.

Together, we breathe.
Together, we heal.
Together, we stay fkn happy.
